went foraging for driftwood, got this one cleaning up right now. First step in the oven, then gonna sand it down and clean it off more.

Unsure though if I'm gonna use it for scaping or save it for another time. Its a really beautiful root system. Passed the snap test too so its dried out and old.

I may ask to borrow the neighbour's drill set to anchor it to some rocks to weigh it down if i use it

I weighed down my large piece of driftwood down by using a large piece of marble from a marble desk pen and pencil holder..2 holes were already in the marble. I then screwed the marble to the driftwood.

what kinds of screws could you use?

I'm more than likely thinking of drilling into it and securing it with either black zip ties to some slate or fishing line...

I used brass. wood screws..they were fairly small...they probably will gradually corrode but would take a long time.... I probably could remove the marble as it's been about 5 years now but it's buried in the sand and you can't see it anyways.

I stuck it outside for a bit in a tote if dechlorinated water that I keep snails and my hyacinths in to soak it a bit.

Then hosed it off more.

Anchored it in. Now to watch. Any sign of agitation from the fish and i will remove it, but theyre all over the thing!

Yes that is. Shes one of those "purple" glofish.

I sent my husband to buy more skirt tetras and that's what he came home with haha but they grew on me so I dont really mind.
