How many female bettas in 30g?

If I decided to have a betta sorority in a 30 gallon, how many would you suggest? I know to introduce them all at the same time and to have at least 5. I googled it and this is what I found. I know it's not right!

Is it a 30 gallon tall or 30 gallon wide? The more surface space the better. I would feel comfortable with maybe 5-6 from what I have read but I have never tried having having a betta sorority only single males.

Same. Five or six should be the minimum for a sorority.

For territorial fish wide is usually better. I wish I had known that when I was buying tanks most of mine are tall except for a 20 wide. It gives them more territory to fight over. Only fish that was semi aggressive that I had that worked out better in a tall was my mated pair of Angelfish.
