Further to my previous thread regarding my bristlenose plecos having long stringy white poo - a few days ago whilst cleaning the gravel in my aquarium I lifted an artificial rock and found my male pleco and dozens of fry. I have now bought a 10 gallon tank and transferred said male pleco and fry into it.
Previous advice from my local IFS's was to not medicate my plecos for internal parasites but to wait and monitor their health (probably based upon the fact that my other tankmates all recovered from the stringy poo by the use of esha NDX).
I'm somewhat worried now as there doesn't appear to be any improvement and the tiny fry are exhibiting similar long stringy poo, although this may be normal for fry.
Should I transfer the male pleco back to the main tank and medicate or leave them for awhile - obviously I can't medicate with the fry in the quarantine tank. Any suggestions? I'll try to upload a pic of the male and a fry so the nature of poo can be seen. Sorry can't upload at the moment as the files are too large - will try and reduce size!
