Hi friends! Thought I'd start a thread for my 55gal community tank. It's an AquaStyle 980 if you're wondering.
So this is what it looks like at the moment. Please ignore the stuff on top and the fact that it looks a bit stirred up, I have been pulling baby guppies out of it all day.
At the moment the inhabitants consist of:
7 x guppies
4 x balloon mollies
1 x blue dwarf gourami
5 x blue tetras
2 x mystery snails (and eggs!)
1x albino bristlenose
The plants are all fake except for the 2 in the front corners (which are doing well despite having the living heck chomped out of them on a regular basis). The substrate is black gravel. Black background.
I'm pretty happy with the overall look of the tank, although the plants could definitely use some rearranging. I am unhappy with the gravel as it makes it so that I cannot have cories and that sort of thing. That big pot thing kind of annoys me so I will probably try and position it in a way that it can't really be seen.

- The blue tetras will be taken out. They are crazy little terrors and I find that they disrupt the calm aesthetic of the rest of the tank.
- I will switch the gravel out to a black sand - I am thinking CaribSea Tahitian Moon stuff. If anyone has any objections to this sand and cories/kuhlis/etc. please speak now or forever hold your peace.
- Plants and ornaments will be re-arranged.
- I want to add cardinal tetras, cories of some sort and kuhli loaches. Depending on how stocked I am at that point, I may consider adding 2 female blue dwarf gouramis, a couple more balloon mollies and maybe some red cherry shrimp from my other tank.
- I would like to attempt some more live plants but I never seem to have luck with them. Perhaps some Anubias on driftwood? I also have some subwassertang and moss balls that I might add eventually.
