What Is This?

I had an issue with parasites and treated them 'I think' successfully a few weeks ago, then this thing appeared on my male, I must admit he's been looking shabby lately.
This happened to my lemon guppy but it disappeared after a couple of hours.
The lepard guppy has only been like this since this morning.
I've done a 25% water change, I don't want to add any chemicals as I have 5 day old fry.
Parameters are all good too... anyone know what it is?

I'm not sure exactly what you are pointing out. Just from what I can see in the photo the thing sticking down is...well...a thing. It's known as the gonopodium and it's the sex organ.

Lol, no! Its not that, its like a white bubble that's formed just above the gonopdium in between his fins, It seems to of got bigger....
I will try and get a closer shot but they don't pose for long.
I have really tried to focus in but he won't stay still, it looks like an air bubble but its actually white in colour, like a little white balloon... I dont know if you can make it out In the above pics but its quite clear there already...

I can see what you're talking about. I can't be certain, obviously, but I would say that's either a prolapse of some kind, or a hernia.

Either way, it's not going to be treatable, apart from keeping the water very, very clean. As fish have such a simple gut, sometimes they can recover from this, as the hernia/prolapse can become ligated naturally.

I can see it better in that photo.
I have to agree with fluttermoth. Keep the fish eating, stress free, and the water clean. Unless it hinders digestion the fish will likely heal.

Ah thank you both, I will have to keep my eye on him, he's still been eating and I've just hand fed him peas, the water is always crystal... I'm quite obsessive when it comes to my fish.
I'm hoping he heals, poor little guy.
Also glad its not parasites... I guess the only way to find out for sure is to open him up when he dies-bit horrid but at least I'd know where to start.

Doing a postmortem can be very interesting. It's difficult on such a small fish but as you say can be the only thing that yields clues which can help you in the future.

Hi... just an update,
The bubble has now gone totally? I didn't do anything special just changed 25% of the water went to bed and in the morning it had disappeared...
Same thing happened to my lemon guppy, surely that can't be a coincidence.... maybe it is some sort of a parasite!

I agree that it's probably not a coincidence but it doesn't have to be a parasite (thought it could be). A parameter problem could be the issue. Even very clean water may not have the parameters (such as pH) for the fish.

Ah yes... my pH is pretty low 6.4,
Ive just bought a house so when I get there I will test the water and sort them out properly.
Perils of moving around I guess- and one of the reasons why I've kept my stock low.
