So its been a very intersting couple months getting this fish tank set up. i have definatly learned alot, it really isnt just a tank with fish and water.

im glad i got into the hobby, i dont think to many can take to the appreciation of it. but long story short here is my tank currently, i have had a struggle but finnaly have gotten it going with no problems.

im planning on adding live plants and sand to the tank, still researching it.
right now i have 1 angel fish, 1 rubernose pleco, 2 bala sharks, and currently have a betta fish in the tank. i dont no if i will be able to keep him once i start adding more fish to the tank.

i no a 40 gal is small for the bettas, but my wife agreed to let me by a  tank in the 100 gal range when we move at the end of the year.

heres a couple pictures of the tank

Tank looks good but would be even better with a background, perhaps a solid black one? :)

As you already know the tank is too small for the balas. They get quite large and are extremely active, as well as being schooling fish so should be kept in groups of 6+.

Most recommend a tank that is 8ft long, some would even say 12ft, due to their activity levels. I would suggest re-homing them unless you really want a tank that large in your house.

HERE is some more info on them. If you put in the 240x60x60cm they recommend this comes out to almost 230g.

I'd keep a close eye on the angelfish and betta.

Not trying to be negative or pick on you, just letting you know :)
