Makes me want to start keeping rainbows.
Such beauties.

Nice!

The trouble with rainbowfish is you never have enough. Everytime I think I've bought my last rainbowfish, another one comes along that makes me want to expand my collection!

Oh boy, a new fish! :yahoo: Gosh, wish I had the room to keep rainbows...

Stunning colours.

I have always been a bit of a fan of rainbows since had Threadfins.

Very nice indeed.

Ooooh, pretty! I downloaded the Rainbow Fishes book by Adrian Tappin and now I want a species-specific tank for each of about 2 dozen of those listed.  Now I want another one!

It might even replace the dwarf neon (praecox) as my new favourite that I don't have room for.

Love Tappin's book. It makes looking after rainbowfish soo much easier.
Going off on a tangent slightly (but hopefully not hijacking OP's thread), has anyone come across M. Isim in the flesh? They're also an undescribed rainbowfish which is seen infrequently in the hobby. I've seen juveniles in my LFS but wonder what the adults look like.

Never seen one (yet). I've had some success trapping wild m. duboulayi (Crimson spotted) and would love to travel, trap and display some more species. But the Good Lady Gruntle changes the subject when I mention more tanks.

Is that book only available as an 'e' book?  I can't seem to locate a source for the hard copy.  Anyone?  I just may be dragged into the 21st century so I can enjoy the book otherwise!

I think a member of his forum got permission to publish the book in print a little while back. I don't think it's widely circulated though, so you might have to contact him directly. Probably easier to download the ebook though. It'll takes AGES to download, but well worth it.

Lucky, lucky man having rainbows in your back yard. Of course, we'll be expecting pictures of the ones the mrs let you keep!

Well first I have to get an ebook reader!

Not necessarily - it's in PDF format so you can download it to your PC or phone.
