Just wondering the reasoning for same sex batches of fry? 2 females i've had have both dropped only females, have read about it before, is there anything like ph/temp etc which can determine this? or is it just one of those things that can happen regardless of conditions?

I'd like to know too,
Had 2 drops of gupps & both been female .
Could be a temperature thing?

Hard to believe that. How old are your fry?

Theyre a couple months old now maybe? they are all females, no man sticks  a friend of mine had baby guppies MUCH smaller than these with no colour or anything and you could easily see the males from females

Had another drop today, they're in the main tank, so don't know how many will survive.
Maybe the females are smarter than the males & avoid being eaten - one explanation for all females lol

males usually sex out by the time they are 3 months old some can take longer well over 6 months how many do you have ?

Well ive got one which is about a week older than the others, which im pretty certain is female as the males have been hounding her (gave the female who dropped her to my step bro which gave birth to another 5 in his tank, which all look like females atm, before she died, pets at home stock) and the rest look like females to me, they are pretty big now can get pics if you want almost certain they are all females.

with a small number of fry it may be possible they are all females. its not to do temperature
you can easily sex them out at 2 months old look very close at the anal fin also females will Clearly show a graved spot

I am usually able to see the gravid spot on the females when they are a no more than a couple of weeks old. It is just a tiny black dot.
But if you are going by the body shape, they all look like females and may have rounded belly for a longer period than two months.

At least you don't have to worry separating males from females :hyper:
Can you may be post a picture or a video of the fry?

When dealing with fry at an auction, I will not buy less than 6 fry in an auction bag if I want to be fairly certain of getting a pair. In an ideal situation where you get exactly a 50/50 split on sexes, it takes that many for the statistics to work out a 95% or higher probability of getting a pair in your sample. The 6 number assumes any random net full of fry from that evenly mixed tank full of fry. With only 2 fish the chances are only about 50% and with 3 fish it is only about 75%.

havent got a good enough camera to get a detailed pic, tank they are in atm isnt all that well lit and theres fair bit of current/they are hyper as hell so they dont stay still, but they all have gravid spots, certain they are all females
