fish4.jpgIts a long story how it got there but I have an unknown fish in my tank. I have found pictures of somewhat similar fish but no cigar. It is bright silver with rows of black dots running lengthwise. It has a long dorsal fin and small barbels which dont show on my crude photo. It is not aggressive (so far) and for some reason I think it is a juvenile at 4 inches long. Any thoughts?

additional photofish2.jpg

THANKS EVERYONE!! IT'S A Labiobarbus festivus and should get about 20cm.

it looks like a zebra x couldnt tell you what its crossed with but depending what its bred with it will prob grow about 3" long

ive never seen a minnoww grow 15 inches long and i own very large congos

oh didnt see the lengh of it now lol but it could get to 5-6" long

it looks quite simuler to a lined leporinus that depending on gender can grow to 7"

if it werent for that dorsal fin, but the spots are definately there, the fin on mine goes way back to the base of the tail

Im sure its a Cyprinid, most likely a barb.. what species it is... im still looking for, only two i have found atm...

Puntius lineatus or lined barb, i found their lines became spots when they got big but i dont think to this extent...

Or (and you better bloomin hope not!!)

Cyclocheilichthys apogon, they seem to vary a lot as youngsters, some deeper in the body than others and some with red fins, some without... but the end is the same for this monster...
