So what do you think of him? He still needs a name so any suggestions are welcome.

He's very sweet but quite shy- i put a mirror in the tank to see what he would do; he scared him self and had quite a bit of fun tring to figure out what it was but now he flares as it quite a bit- I still can't get him too eat though, is he likly to start on his own or should i be doing something? I've tried pellets, granules, 3 types of flake food, freeze dried blood worms, frozen tubixex and frozen brine shrimp. He jsut looks at them like he's going to eat but then turns away as they float past.

So pictures of him :) He's a round tail (but the edges are clear so he looks quite a lot like a veil tail) and marble i think? It looks particularly good when he catches the light and his fins look purple :)

Beautiful boy! I've never heard of round tails, but just googled them. I think he might just be a veil tail, comparing him to some of the pics that came up :good:
His colouring is lovely, though! He's a very nice find  :good:

Ah well either way i got a pretty betta :)

thanks :) i just spotted him in the guppy tank at the LFS

He certainly is beautiful
My new boy was in with guppies, too! Strange thing is, he's terrified of them!

Is the mirror in his tank constantly or do you just put it in occasionally? If it's in there permanently, you might want to think about taking it out and only putting it in for special occasions, max 5 mins at a time. If he flares too much, it can stress him out, and he might rip his fins :good:

:) thanks

Mine quite likes them- he keeps swimming with them (I do know bettas shouldn't really go with guppies but I'm keeping an eye on them and he seems to be good with them-I picked him partly because he was already kept with guppies)
They do seem to be a bit contrary (spelling?) I can just imagine a betta being chased around by tiny guppies :S: poor thing
It's funny- i expected him to be a bit like my paradise fish, but he is completly differant- really odd fish (compared to the ones i already have) ... I already want another one :D
But i keep thinking he's dead because he likes to flatten himself against things

Don't worry- it used to be in there all the time cause it looks good, but since the bettas in there now I only put it in there for a few minutes a day

keep an eye that the cellophane edging on the fins isnt finrot....lots of water changes just in case x

and hes pretty

Will do, thanks :) - i hadn't thought of that, i just figured it would be natural colouring, i seem to end up with quite a few with fin rot so at least i know what to do with it

and he'll be very happy to hear that :D
