Hey All,

Found this centipede looking creature in my fish tank but cant figure out what it is. Found a similar one a few days ago we took out just in case!
Anyone know if these are harmful?

Thanks for the replies guys!
I was kinda worried cause when I looked up pictures of bristleworm they were much bigger and different in color.. must just be because its a baby! It's only about an inch long!

@seffieuk thanks for the welcome =)

Yes welcome :D I was on my phone so didnt realise you were new to the site

Any chance of some pics of your tank? We love to see other peoples set ups :D

Sure! Heres my setup... Let me know what you think!!

Also I noticed this guy moving around my tank. He's in a different spot every day but I never see him moving! he's the boob looking thing but sometimes he looks more like a tube. Once when I stayed home from work I saw him open up a bit and it looked like a bubble type round thing was inside but it never fully came out. Picture below:

can you post a bigger pic?

not sure what the nipple is, but that looks like a mojano anemone above it which needs removing asap if it is

this is the best i could do! we actually have 2 of the one above the boob thing on nearby rock...

that looks like a nem of some kind.

+1 one unhappy Nem

and above a mojano that needs a good hot soldering iron on it

I take it the pink nem came in on a piece of live rock, how long has the tank been cycled and what are your current stats etc? If the tank is only recently cycled and your stats are not stable that might explain the nem not opening - he is moving because he cant find find a good place to wedge his foot and/or appropriate flow

tank has been running for about 7 weeks. we ran it all for 3-4 weeks with live rock before adding any fish..,. we tested our water levels at the lfs when we got the fish and it was okay sept amonia was slightly high. they said its okay to get 2 small ones and give it a week see if the levels decline might just need some time... so we got the 2.... These fish seem to be pretty hearty! so we never thought about testing the water again.... well. I did. but my bf was never fussed enough so it just didn't happen...

..Anyways a week after that we got some flowers/mushrooms and some more live rock. Then a week after that got the goby and another rock n coral...

Just seems like most of the rock we picked up had sooooooo much life on it. a clam. plenty of feather dusters. seen some crabs come out of the rocks.. small snails/slugs..., even ones with shells on their backs! and of course the pictures I have shown of the unknown ones...

I know my temp, Ph & salt is fine but as for all other levels I have to go back to the lfs. So I guess I'll head in there tomorrow?

always test often, at first (until you train yourself to see problems) its your only window to see potential problems
