New Species For The Trade?

Hey everyone.

Just been fishing around on a few sites & came across a couple of newbie fish for the aquatic trade. One or two of you may have seen these before, but they are both new to me....

picture 1.
A rare Madagascan cichlid: Paretroplus Maromandi. Possibly endangered, a worthy candidate for a captive breeding programe.

Picture 2.
Pimolodus Tetramenus, never seen this before, looks similar to P.Albofaciatus, but apparently only grows to a similar size to the pictus.

I want one of those Cichlids, looks kind of like a Severum, but Madagascan . Know what size they get to by any chance?

I saw both fish on seriously fish, There is an article about Madagacan fish highlighting the plight of native species. The cichlid that I have posted is a fantastic looking fish - I bet it would look really stunning in a tank. When I was in the British Cichlid Association, they had a captive breeding program for endangered Lake Victorian cichlids, where volunteer fish-keepers could house & breed endangered species. I hope these Madagascan cichlids are as well protected.

As for the pimolodus tetramenus, I have done a little research & it first appeared in 2007, though I have never seen it for sale in the UK. The pim in the picture has a more reddish tone compared to other photo's that I have found, but it is still a stunning fish.

As for Seriously fish - it is a worthwhile site to visit (if that's ok to mention on this site),which features many new species from all over the world. It also has scientific papers which can be a bit daunting to read, albeit very informative, such as the article below.
"This somewhat sobering article on the plight facing cichlid species of the genus Paretroplus, all of which are endemic to the island of Madagascar and disappearing rapidly, was published on the New York Times website yesterday".

A little bit more info:
It is also known as the pinstripe Damba, & has just been placed on the "Critically endangered" list of IUCN's red list.
