The green eyed monster is coming out :fun:

Whats your stocking plan for this tank?

Im really unsure at the minute, i love the look of shoaling fish and have always been partial to the amazon setup. Im thinking a centerpiece of something simple like 100 cardinal tetras :D And some nice corys for the bottom.

I remember when my Rio 180 arrived in March and I couldn't get over how HUUUUGE it was...and less than a week later I was sulking because it wasn't big enough! Already started saving to upgrade to 300l+ in a year or so. And family just don't get it!
I get like that. My Rio 240 was MASSIVE when I got it. It was the biggest fish tank in the whole world! now (6 years later) and for some time, I look at it and think "god, isn't it small..!" I'd love a 6 footer but it wouldn't fit in the space so I'm contenting myself with upgrading to a Rio 400 when I can.
 - i know that feeling well!
I could move my 6ft settee out to make way for a bigger tank, but i don't think my family would appreciate sitting on the floor!!

I'm glad i'm not the only one, keep them coming :)

I want to do that! In fact, what I really want to do is have an L shaped tank that is about 15 inches deep and about 18 tall that is built in, so it goes down the 10 foot wall behind our 3 seater sofa and then out 5 feet down the wall where our current tank is. Allow me a picture to demonstrate:

I think it would look awesome - you'd sit on the sofa and be surrounded by fish! What more could a person want?! :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hey:

Hubby said no. Can't think why... :-( :grr:

I'm going to bring it back up again as an option next time he starts saying he wants to buy himself a Fireblade. ;) :hey: :shifty:

Lol, who needs a table anyway, i would be tempted to dispose of it and make that back bit fit a nice large tank :D

I only have a 60l, no fish at present (in cycle) and I am already eyeing up a Rio 240, this is rather addictive:).

Coldcassie - fab plan, that would be awesome surrounded by fish  ,you'll have to twist hubbys arm

Tizer - You have tons of space, bigger the better :good:

Tribalbrit - yours look fantastic  :good:

Started with a rather small looking 2ft tank back in 2007, upgraded to a 3ft (180 litre) and then moved into my own place with my partner.

We then sold the 2 above tanks and bought an AR980 but that wasn't good enough so I bribed my partner into removing the dining table and replacing it with a 6ft... Shame it still looks tiny in the 8.5ft gap but he is refusing to let me have a bigger one :(

 - Thats the trouble when theres still space by the tank...You never know, one day keep pestering...

I too have felt that bug. Trouble is though, what would you do with all the old tanks. Especially larger ones. I know you can sell them or keep them running or what not but you guys with 3 or more tanks you've gone through, what do you do with them all. Surely it costs a lot everytime you change to a bigger one?

My ....wiser? half, has said no already but I think this would be a sound investment.

I usually get them cheap, eBay is usually good...
Got my 6ft for £40 and was offered £200 the other day so I usually use the tanks till they look small then sell them on and make a profit :)
