Got My New Betta!

Well, seeing as how my 5 gallon tank finally cycled, yesterday I got my brand new Betta! Of course he came in one of those little plastic cups...the store had a lot of them, different varieties etc. I felt so sorry for some of those poor little fish. Anyways I finally found the right guy; a King Betta. There one little "halfmoon" that I really liked but I decided on the king...liked his personality and he looked healthy, which I couldn't say for all the bettas. Anyways I got him home acclimated and into his new home and he LOVES it! He's active and flaring and just seems happy to be out of Betta purgatory. I'll try to post a picture later today (I forgot my laptop doesn't have the proper program installed so I'll get to it later today). With a few suggestions from family I've settled on the name Mystic. Given his coloring which you'll see in the pics I think it's a good name and I'm just happy that he is happy and doing well. In fact I've never seen a Betta so active before, though of course its been years since I've had any tropical fish, so I may not remember very accurately.

thanks everyone! Mystic is doing just great. it seems like he is starting to recognize me because now when I come up to the tank he comes right up to the glass. He seems like he does a bit of showing off when someone is in the room, in fact he is flaring at me as I type this...lol! He seems like one happy and excited betta...and yeah he's pretty big and very, very active. Thanks for the compliments on the tank set up too...Mystic sure seems to love it, especially the plants.

Oh yeah, BTW I've seen a few posts talking about betta toys...any suggestions in that regard? Right now it's not a problem, Mystic has PLENTY of things to keep him happy, but I'm thinking of down the road. I thought I read something about a ping pong ball....in the tank for a few hours, but are they aquarium safe? anyways just thought I'd ask for down the road.
