woohoo! to my surprise I finally found some live plants at Petco (yes I hate the employees there, one lady was so rude to me today I had to hold myself back with all my might to not lash out at her) and was going to pick up another albino cory but they just had their new shipment in and they were still floating in bags..so I decided to buy 3 cute little mollies. I debated for a while because they are going in with my betta..and I dont like bettas in community tanks, but thought id give it a try and watch them closely..if it doesnt work out I have a backup tank for my betta (so far Pinky my betta has no idea what the hell these creatures are that just inhabited his tank and wants nothing to do with them except stare once in a while)

I got a black molly, a gold dusted mollie, and I cant remember what the orange one is called..but they love to swim in a group and are so fast! here are some pics I just took. I couldnt wait until they settled down and took them fast, so sorry about the poor quality.

**Please do not flame me for putting them in with my betta, Ive had bettas for a while now and know alot about them and their agression and needs, Pinky has a very docile personality and they all seem to get along so far**

about the male/female thing, you could check the anal fin, I'll post pics to show you, i think it's clear, allthough they are of guppy fry...

The plant in the ornament is Limnophila and the other one looks like a Echinodorus species.

thanks ryan! even though I have no idea what either of those are lol..I still like them because they are..well real

the bottom molly looks like a female jus cause shes so fat.. possibly pregnant

:) Great mollies! In the first picture of the three mollies, the top black one is definatly a male and the one at the bottom is a female. I think the orange molly is male, but it's to see from the point of veiw of the picture. In female like all livebearers, their anual fin (which is on their underside) is fan shaped and the male's is pointed

Nice mollies! I keep a betta with mollies and there is no fighting because they don't look anything alike.

thanks guys! you have been awesome help :D..that bottom black one definetley looked pregnant to me too, it would be cool if she was to see some tiny mollie fry..maybe I will research them a bit more and possibly put her in a breeding net to soon, and keep you guys updated ;)

sorry to double post, but I was too excited about hearing she is posssibly pregant and went to take some more pictures..and yep the other 2 are definetly male. I have named the black marble one Talto, the orange one Quazi and the female Lola..here is lola and Quazi

she looks pretty balloonish to me, I wonder how long it will be for the fry.

you might have some problems with 2 males and one female- usually it's recommended to have it the other way around. the two males might harass her too much. you might want to consider taking back one of the males and exchanging it for another female

longhorne-I just heard that actually about the 2 females to 1 male ratio, but when I was buying them the people working there dont let you pick which ones you want, they just grab whatever they can catch (because the employees suck) I can try to bring one of the males back but im in love with them already..so I may have to put my betta elsewhere and just buy another female
