I have never been in a LFS that kept bettas in anything larger than a quart or so of water. While I agree that keeping bettas longterm in such small spaces is terrible, you have to understand that these are temporary homes and are clearly the only economical way to house bettas for most LFS. The important thing is that the water is cleaned regularly and the bettas treated as necessary for any illness that occurs as a result.bunjiweb said:Good job we don't have walmarts in England.
