all things are fixed now though fish are fine so we don't have that one up anymore

not enough but i still like my job. been there 9 1/2 years and still counting only been with the pets dept. 2 years. but have worked all over now i am dept. manager over pets..

cool, most of our walmarts here suck, but there is one the guy knows what he is doing. Glad to hear there is more than one good pet section of wal mart. There is another wal mart close to my house that is improving, it is a college kid and he is always asking questions of me on how to make it better. I have referred him to this site and others. I thought you might have been him at first :D keep taking good care of those fish :D

a lot better than our walmarts. they have their bettas in cups no taller then my pinky finger...and theyre dirty....

Good job we don't have walmarts in England. The smallest tanks I have seen Bettas in is 1 Gallon each. Those cups can't be more than a third of a litre, thats very cruel.

I have never been in a LFS that kept bettas in anything larger than a quart or so of water. While I agree that keeping bettas longterm in such small spaces is terrible, you have to understand that these are temporary homes and are clearly the only economical way to house bettas for most LFS. The important thing is that the water is cleaned regularly and the bettas treated as necessary for any illness that occurs as a result.

Hi friend,
There are a few fish that walmart sells that I think that they should leave to other lfs to handle because of their potential size and needs. On the whole they have a fair selection but I'd like to see them discontinue the koi and the pacu. I believe that they have these nationwide and I think about all those fish in tanks that aren't right for them. How and who should I get a hold of to voice this concern? I think that if they stuck with fish that the average tank could handle there would be far less bad press for them. Thanks in advance for any direction you point me in.
