Hey can you tell me if my bristle nose plecos are male and female?
BN 1:

BN 2:

By evobe at 2010-06-19

BN 2 is smaller and has no bristles, BN 1 ahs a full beard of them

From the pics, they both look like females but you say that BN 1 has a full beard of them?
If it has got lots of bristles and they are slightly upturned, then it is defintely a male.

How big are they? they both look female to me but if number one is small then it could be a young male.

This is my male if it helps



And my female. Not great pics but you can see the difference. No bristles at all on the female.

This is BN 2, about 1 and a half inches, no bristles:

At 2" i would say that second one is a young male.
