I introduced two lovely clown plecs to my tank the other day, and after putting them in, i have not seen them!

My tank has plenty of hiding places, but i can always spot the hiding fish...until now! I added wood as the plecs require, and i had hoped they would explore this a bit, but nope!

I was wondering if there was a way to encourage the fish out of their hiding? I have put in bottom feeder food tablets, but the only fish that show interest are my corys, mollys and danios!

The plecs are my favourable fish, (and the most expensive so far) so i hope there is a way to get them out so i can at least see them?!

Thanks

Unfortunately that's clowns for you, renowned for been elusive and usually don't change lol, i wouldn't hold out to much hope of seeing them often becasue it probably wont happen, plecs in general are pretty much the same with exception of a few.

I've had clowns for a couple of years now and I rarely ever see them! They tend to be nocturnal,- unlike my bristlenoses who are out most of the time! I actually wish I'd never bought the clowns as I don't get to appreciate them, and they're not great algae eaters. I'm now a great fan of bn's!

Maybe just taking time to settle in, evening viewing ?
I had two small female BN's and they were always all over the place, I now have a male BN and you wouldn't know he was in there. I see him occassionaly in the evening after lights out, and he can sometimes be spotted when I go into the room first thing in the morning, oh yeah and then there's the scraps of food leftover from the night before, so he must be in there somewhere

hmm, well one (maybe a different one each time, i dunno!) shows his/her face every now and again, but then darts away so quickly it is not worth getting off my seat to go and see him! I am worried about when i clean the tank now....what if i dont see him/her....

Look who i found for the first time in a week!! So at least one is still alive..... but i heave never seen its partner in crime at the same time, so i have no idea what it is doing with its life!

I am worried, i need to clean the tank on Sunday, but how do i do it? Normally i clean around the stuff in the tank, but i worry now that the wood is there, that there is not much to clean. Should i take out the ornaments and wood etc when cleaning so i can get to the gravel? And if so, what if my fish are hiding there?!

i call my clown plec "the scarlet pimpernel"

They seek him here.
They seek him there.
scotty seeks him everywhere.
Is he under the bogwood?
Or is he in the coconut cave ? That damned elusive Pimpernel!
