Hi found this picture abd was looking for some information , I know its a bristlenose, but what is it ?
Any correspondence greatly appreciated :good: LDA-08.jpgLDA-08.jpg

Looks photoshoped to me and it also doesnt look like it belongs in that picture and i would say just a common BN

Not one to argue as you know what you're talking about ,,,,, BUT could it be a rare breed OR hybrid?

Sorry mate, LDA08 claro, found some stuff on net , even found the image i posted, not where i found it though, nice plec, wonder how much it would cost???????

It may well be a gold marble but i still say it's photoshopped, the claro isn't usually that white tbh but it could well be just a little colour deviant.

This is your typical claro....

Typically more a Goldy coloured as pictured

Claro aren't that expensive to obtain, there was some a while back in my local MA for about £11 each as sub adults.

Yeah , Gold Marble , it looks nice , had never seen a Bristlenose like it, going to keep my eyes peeled in the new year :good:
Have you seen super reds yet ?

Yes, super reds are nice, not to sure what they are actually bred with but im thinking commons and calico's? maybe a 144 varient, Jo at rare aquatics was selling some not so long ago.

Not really into BN's but to me no BN comes nicer than L183 juveniles

that photo HAS to be photoshopped...look at the tips of the fish's pelvic/anal fins!

...im just not sure as to why  ive never even seen this photo before.

Whats wrong with the pelvic fins?

IMO its a very attractively patterned LDA08, looks like an Aqualog picture too.

That does not look photoshoped to me. Could be a newly discovered pleco. It does look like a Ancistrus claro to me just really light. Very pretty.

I think he means if you look closely the 'white' colour extends every so slightly off the plec into the actual photo.

The plec you link to looks nothing like the one the OP listed lol, the one you link is just a terrible over exposed picture, giving more of a white appearance than it really is.

I'll stick with the photoshopping because the picture just doesn't look right within the whole scene, the plec may well have quite alot of white on him but i would say the white has been enhanced quite abit to be fair.

In the likelihood this was a newly discovered plec and in fact did look like the picture, there would be much more documentation on this particular picture being a BN and this picture or similar ones showing this 'new' species would be abundant and well talked about.

Like ive mentioned above with matubula's link the photo you and him have link to is a very bad quality photo which isn't showing the correct colour becasue of over exposure.

It is actually a 183 white seam with the 182 been called the starlight (renamed a while back) but yes by far the best looking BN around

while i cannot directly discredit photoshopping, this image is 1) of ancistrus claro 2) almost certainly not tampered with.

White glow and intensity just gives me that instant thought of the photo HAS been tampered with, never directly said it wasn't a claro and if infact it hasn't been tampered with, it is a stunning specimen. But to the OP don't expect every LDA08 to look like that becasue you will be very much disappointed.

my point about the pelvic fins was exactly that fishyjake!
i wish this was a real specimen but after a closer look at the photo, i've noticed some tiny imperfections around the fish that aren't any where else in the photo. surely this means its been photoshopped??

if this was a real species, i think bristlenose's would become a lot more popular lol

try breeding Ancistrus claro with snow :good:
