O.K. Gang, I'm stumped! I've had my tank set up for 1 1/2 year. I've had approximately 5 different females over that time and have only had 2 babies. What's Up!! Most of them have gotten huge with eggs, but noth'n.

* PH is always 7.0-7.2
* Water changes every week to two weeks (20%).
* Water Temp. is 76-78 degrees
* Light is on for 11 to 12 hours a day.
* Feeding twice a day.

As a last ditch effort, I have moved the male Guppy to a breeder net so that he will quit pestering the female.

Please Help!!!!!!!

hi jimmy
Your guppies are having babies they are getting eaten by the Adult fish put a female in a small tank with plenty of plants keep her well fed and you will soon see babies

Let's say for instance that's not the case. What if the gravid spot doesn't ever get dark for more than a couple of hours. That's just poo then, right? I keep a very close eye on them. Or, could they be having them at night while I'm sleeping?

A gravid spot don’t always go dark some can stay very light in colour guppies will normally have there fry very early in the morning check your thank 3 or 4 times a day

Ooh, pregnant guppies are so cute.

So, how you've had 5 females over that time. How many males? As stated maybe the adults are eating the fry. . .or possibly the male is sterile. lol

Best of luck. I'm waiting for mine to become preg too. I spend 1/2 hour a day asking them why they're not pregnant yet, but they just ignore me and swim away.

UPDATE: On December 1st, 2009 my female guppy finally had (3) babies! I guess moving the male away from her reduced her stress level. She was the only one that he concentrated on.

Bleghs. I had the same problems. ^^; I think my male mickey mouse platy was sterile, because I had my platies since like August or late July or something yet NO FRY NEVER. :( Not even with hiding places, *or* a breeding trap, *or* placing the fattest female in her own 5-gallon tank.... Which I soon converted into a Betta tank. :lol:

Well, so, yeah; one was really fat. ^^; :eek: Lucky yous! :D

Congrats on your fry :good:

I found 12 platy fry and 4 guppy fry yesterday ,i knew they were due to drop,from previous drops i know that they both normally drop more than this so i expect they became snacks to the adults :rolleyes:
