I helped out an elderly lady today and removed a large amount of moss from her roof. This house is in a wooded area and obviously the moss prevents proper water drainage, thus it has damaged the roof.
I salvaged some of the moss, about 6 pieces 2' square. The moss i very green and lucious. It was not completely emersed in water, but was vey damp.
My question is, if I attempt to clean the moss and soak it in water to drown any bugs, will it be safe or even suitble to put into a 55gal aquarium. I have googled 'roof moss' and cannot get any response to the type of moss that it is.
Thanks for your assistance,
Doug Coffman
