All my goldfish are commons and comets, except one looks nothing like the others. It's a single tail, roundish, and slender. Its shaped the way fancies are but it has a single tail and isn't fat like a fancy. as far as I know, only commons, comets, and shubunkins have a single tail and this fish looks nothing like any of them. This guy actually kind of looks like a orange and white angelfish but without those long things hanging off its stomach area like an angelfish has and it's top fin isn't as tall as a angelfish's. Any idea what this guy could be? I can get a pic tomorrow if you need one.

I was just looking at some goldfish pictures and it seems to be a Ryukin, but it's tail fin is single and it isn't as large and flowing- it looks pretty much like a common/comet tail fin.

Looks alot like the first pic here.

had a look around and found some info pn single tailed ryukin now if i have got this right

a single tailed ryukin is called a Tamaryu
its body shape can either be a
Sabao as a low shoulder, and a long body .

your welcome

these little chaps are prized like koi in japan

post a pic...i want to see it

mmm...i dont think its fat enough to be crossed with a ryukin or similar type fish. weird looking fish though. to me it looks flat all the way round? like a common goldie just the shape that looks more carp like than goldie like.

Woah, I think you may be right, davo. That never even occurred to me! and I wasted so much time trying to figure out what kind of goldfish he is, lol. He's about the size of a tiger barb, I think he's 2-3 inches long. I thought tiger barbs liked to nip fins? He hangs out with the goldfish always and I've never seen any aggression from him. I love tiger barbs and was planning on getting some for my 55g, so I'll get him some friends and separate him from the goldfish asap.

Thanks for your help, everyone! :)

yeah now ive seen pics year looks like an albino tiger barb to me too

Looks like an albino tiger to me aswell you can clearly make out the stripes on the first photo but tiger barbs are tropical and goldfish are at best sub tropical so in the long run he needs to be moved.
