Small update.

Just snaffled and planted the twisted valis from my other tank - needed a bit more height on the left. Also planted the uber mini crypts that the lfs gave me gratis :good:

Any comments?

looking good, but one suggestion... fill the foreground in with HC or glosso

Good point, I've left the spaces that are bare in readiness for some HC, looks beautiful when I've seen it carpeted in other's tanks. My LFS is ordering some in for me but they can only get it on a mat so I'll probably have some to distribute :hey: Thanks for the comment.

dude

nice tank :)

I aquascaped mine today! ill post piccies later in a thread of my own! yours is FAB! :good: :good: :good: :hyper: :hyper:

Thanks bagu

After much discussions with the boss (my wife) she we have decided that, once cycled we will be having the cardinal tetras out of the community and sticking them in here. I think they will be beautiful and we will be adding to the shoal big time.

What sort of numbers of tetra's do you think I could get in there as a max do you think? There is approx 65 litres of water in there (taking into account displacement etc) I will not go max of course but would like a BIG shoal of beauty. Please advise.

There will also be Amano Shrimp going in to eat stuff as and when I think it's ready for them.

Some of the leaves on the uber mini crypts are melting away quickly already. eek! Anyone any idea whats up? It happened so soon after planting I suspect it's to do with replanting or some such. Any ideas welcomed.

Yeh Crypt melt is pretty common after planting. You either get it or you don't, you are just one of the unlucky ones.
Whenever I palnt or move my crypts a few leaves melt. When I first got an order of crypts in the mail and planted them 1 week later most only had a few leaves left. They grow back real nice though. :good:

cool thommo ta

Just make sure you remove the melting leaves as with all of them melting at once you may get an Ammonia spike due to all the decomposing. But if you done have any fish in there it probably isn't too much of an issue. I just found you end up with yucky clear leaves floating around and getting into the filter.

Managed to bag some pots of HC from a lfs. Couldnt sit on my hands long enough for the mat of it to arrive from the other place
Here's a pic of a few blobs I planted and some more shots. Please note that when people say "HC tends to float and is tricky to plant" are not bloomin joking lol

I really must clean that Akadama fill line off the back glass

Wow,

Looking very nice. I like :good:

Maybe 1 larger rock on the left would make it pop a bit more IMO. I think they might be hidden a bit once the plants really get going although it depends on what you are going for, a scape or just a planted tank. Although it will be a very nice "just planted tank" :good:
