Bettas We Have Loved And Lost.

Was interested in seeing a kind of memorial for the bettas in our lives that we believed were exceptional fish, but have since gone on to the big tank in the sky.

Here is my B.B. King - one of the first bettas I ever owned. Sadly, he was not with me for long because I was stupid and didn't know about regular water changes - thought that was what a filter was for! Hey - nobody ever told me any different - YIKES!!!!

Anyway, here he is.

I lost Star a few weeks back.. He had a strong will to live, but I think the stess of moving tank finally beat him *cries* He had a body deformaty and couldn't swim properally, so had a tank full of perches he could rest on.. He was a happy fish who bubble nested and flared right to the end..

Blaze my first 'proper' betta (kept a few when younger but 'my' personal 1st)
loved him to bits, he'd always come greet me and do his little wiggle dance.
he had a tough last few months though with re accuring swim bladder problems, had to keep him in QT with shallow water and several peas weekly

Royal, tiny little boy but so fiesty, made Blaze fiesty too
i just had to have him, was love at 1st sight

Rose, my favourite lil girlie, she had so much personality, was always 1st to rush and greet me in the mornings

And then theres, Ruby, Scarlette, Crimson and just recently Lancelot

I lost my Guava yesterday... such a very special boy, a rescue who came to me in such bad condition he looked like a plakat. I thought he didn't have any chance at all but against all the odds he made it and had several happy months with me. :rip:

Miss you boy...

RIP also to Valhalla, the feisty little brat, and Password, my special little beauty. And all of my other lost friends. I miss you all.

This is such a sweet idea. So many threads are started about people loosing fish and this is a really lovely way to remember our special lil fishkies.

Sadly i don't have a picture of my first ever boy but he was the one that got me hooked so many years ago and i still think of him now from time to time as i have alot to thank him for
