Hey, nice tank, whats the stocking going to be for it?
are those plants real? if so i'm not sure if they are all aquatic

Also you may want to add a background to enhance the tank further, this will make a huge difference :good:

The current stock is as follows:

3 glowlites
2 loaches (One albino one normal)
8 Guppies 4 male 4 female introduced in 2 batches
4 cory dory thingys 2 albino and 2 normals (ive got the name written down but always forget it)

and a snail but im now regretting transfering him accross as in the last tank i had him the last week in the bag with the second lot of guppies and in that week he spawned at least 7 others that i found in the old unused tank when cleaning it out.

The background made the tank look very dark and the beige wall actually look nice through the back in person the photos dont do it justice.

The plants are real and im hoping they are real plants. I dont have a name with them but they had been in the LFS a while not the same ones they have them there often.

the guppies will need 2 be 2 or 3 males to 6 or 5 females just 2 stop the males constantly harrassing the females and the corys should be at least 5 of each species not 2 and a 2 :)

im not totally sure those plants are aquatic. can you get some close ups of them. they make look it but they will probably rot in a couple of weeks.

THis is the best i can do on the close up and i just spotted the guppies eating the plants.

I am going to add some cucumber or peas tomorrow.

How do people add veg to there tanks?

Im thinking a tangerine net or something weighted down.

Sorry to say but only the one in the middle in the lower picture, just behind the rock, looks like it might be aquatic (edit: and that might be just because it's behind the rock so it's hard to tell)

The other plants will rot within a month or two at most.

Thanks for the heads up ill go and speak to the pet shop that sold them and see about getting them either replaced or refunded.

In case you're interested, or want some information to back you up at the LFS, the one just left of the rock is a Spider Plant (Chlorophytum comosum). The others are all a variety of "Lucky bamboo" (Dracaena sanderiana). Any of them would make nice, fast-growing houseplants if you decided to take them out and plant in a pot. :)

These two are probably the most common fake aquatic plants as they'll survive a good while underwater before rotting away. An additional problem with the Dracaena is that it's somewhat poisonous to any fish that decides to nibble on it.

They will be removed tomorrow as soon as i have the time to do it.

THank you so much for this I might have ended up with a tank full of dead plants and ill fish.

Ill print those articles off tomorrow and take them with me.

Any reccomendation for similar looking plants?

I liked the look of the tank with those in.

I'm a bit biased since these are my favorites, but:

Amazon swords (Echinodorus) of various kinds have a somewhat similar look, although the leaves are a plain uniform green (there are more colorful variants but you rarely see them in stores for some reason). I'd avoid Echinodorus bleheri, as this plant grows huge and will try to grow right out of the tank. Echinodorus amazonicus (the classic "Amazon sword" and the most common Echinodorus in shops at least around here) would look great, maybe surrounded by some smaller species, like E. bolivianus.

Java fern and its relatives (lots of different colors and shapes are available these days) could be planted directly on the rock or slate (would probably need to use fishing line, rubber bands or something to keep it in place until it attaches). It'd look awesome on the pile of slate on the right I think.

Im off work Ill today so ive taken the time to remove and inspect the plants and they are definately wrong. The spider plant is almost eaten and the healthy bits are almost bloated like if you over water a cactus. the other darker ones the leaves are curling and turning brown.

THanks so much for spotting this, i would have gone and not noticed till they were dead cos the colour change is so small, the last plant looked a little ragged to so its also gone the grass is looking fine.

Ive added my old fake plants from a small tank for hiding by till i get along to the pet shop (different one) today. I spoke to the place that sold those to me and he just simply said "they are aquatic plants i buy and sell them all the time" when i asked for the latin names he said he doenst know as he buys a mega selection and they arnt all named. I then asked about a refund or replacement and he started going on a rant about policy being it has to come back as sold potted and wrapped in the same stuff and all this other rubbish so im just going to give them to my misses to pot in a normal pot.

Bad thing is the bright purple pink blue and green plastic things that suited the little old tank now look so rubbish and cheap in the big nice tank. Good thing is the roman colum thing attached to the purple plant looks real nice and might be the star of a mini theme. Im going to look today. The purple comes off so thatll go and ill plant something nice and suttle behind it. Im also going to get some more grass type stuff for the base of the rocks.

i attach veggies with fishing line and a plant weight and then tape it to the side of the tank. or if you want it to sink dont tape it!

Glad to see you got rid of the non aquatic plants. But why the multi color lol, sorry I'm just not a huge fan of them, although your tank does look nice :) I especially like the slate in the left corner.
