Hello all. sorry for the delay it all went a bit crazy. the eggs are albino cories and i have hundreds of them at the moment in a small tank hatching out. I have no experience with growing these little chaps on so need some advice. At the moment they are about 4 days old. They are in a tank with a little sand at the bottom as i did origanly put the parents in to lay the eggs. Today i found about 50 dead ones. they are white and colourless. this is only a very small portion to how many i do have. The rest are swimming about as manic as the parents lol. i have a very small filter in the tank with a stocking over it as so it wont suck up any of them little ones. I am putting in a very small amount of first bite powder as thats all i have and have fed most of my fish with this and grown all the babies on fine. I do a small water change each morning and have the lights off. Is there anything else i need to do. is the survival rate quite low for the little chaps?.

I have just put my baby albino bristlies in the main tank and have another lot of albinos on the way...the new ones are half longfinned as the female is a long finned and the male a normal albino male. So i have babies all over the place. So any advice on the cories would be gratefull and welcomed, Its apssolutly impossible to get a photo of the babies as you cant see them on a sand base lol. I have an important question. I only have the tank half full at the moment as i didnt know if they needed to go up for air...can anyone advose me on that one.

thanks

dawn (its only a small 3o l hexigan tank i use it to grow on babies or sick fish)

some more pics of baby plecs and mum and dad mating.

hello all. well the kittens are doing ok, i would say i have lost about half so far...i just find them all white and dead at the bottom and it looks like a cory graveyard.. not sure why..but the others are scurrying about the tank and looking lively so lets hope they stay alive and healthy. The new bristlenose have hatched. They are half long finned (the mum is a lovely longfinned and dad a regular albino) albino and both parents are lovely. I have about 60 of them so if anyone wants any when they have grown i will be selling them.(as well as the ones in the photo there is about 30 of them!!!) I wont post so it would be collection only. Anyway thats my baby madness update for now.

will keep you posted.

i can never get my cory sterbai fry to survive past 1 month, its terrible :(

Well this is an update...most of the little fish have died. Ime realy not sure why just find the odd one each day has died. I Still have about 50 in the fry tank who are getting quite big now and i am very lightly feeding them at the moment but i did start out with hundreds. Ime not sure if over feeding may have happened or changing the water may hve efected them but i have a filter in the tank and i have decided not to do a water change every day and this has seemed to help so far. The lond finned bristlies are doing well...nearly ready to go in the main tank. I put the dad back into the main tank in his cave and the next day he had another batch of eggs....unfortunatly he fanned them out so they are in a small breeding net. Oh the baby madness continues..lol

so lets hope most of them continue to grow and survive. Thanks to all the information on this forum as ime sure it has kept my fish alive and all the helpful hints and tipps i have picked up. Keep it going as it really does help.
