Went to a new fish shop i had never been to before yesterday to get some fish for my brackish tank and ended up coming home with a betta. there were loads of them like one male in each tank.
They said i could put him in my tropical tank so i did and he is having a whale of a time..
How long before he starts blowing bubbles??

Congrats on your Betta :good: what other fish is he in with.....You need to be really careful as male Bettas are best kept on their own.

Hiya Haylea if you have any probs with him he'll live very happily in your Aqua Qube xxx

Hi is is in with an angel fish a chinese loach a golden loach.
Thinking about getting him some females.

Thanks mel how is the aqua cube you bought off me getting on?
xx

I have no idea about the angels (loaches should be fine), but DO NOT get him any females. You are asking for a hell of a lot of trouble that way!

you need to keep a careful eye on him in the community tank, he could turn on the others or vice versa. He wont be able to live with a female I am afraid. What colour is he, and we need a photo! :shout:

I thought it would be a nice idea to put some females with my male but within a week he's been badly attacked, left with hardly any fins and on the brink of death.

after marina R.I.P. lol i wouldnt house a betta with any other fish just maybe a snail or shrimp

It's fine but I haven't done anything with it yet so much going on!
I have 6 male bettas all live alone in small tanks because they are 'fighting' fish and although some are placid you do take a risks if you don't house them alone but you could keep a few cories in the 25litre with him and he would do great xx

OMG these shops will happily sell you females to put in with a male aswell that is sooo bad...
Well i have my back up plan at the ready for if he doesnt like it in there.. Him and the angel fish seem to have developed a frendship..
He is so slow and relaxing to watch he just floats around being nosey..

He has a black head that changes to a greeny blue tail. i will try and get a pic on here of him...

What is he?

He looks alike a SD to me but don't quote me on it... but his dorsal fin is either crown, or extremely shredded... Did he come to you like that?

Someone else could probably give you a better idea but to me it looks like he has been fin nipped a lot by the other fish.
