Fish Herder
well went on a betta hunt today. went to a couple of places in edinburgh, one had no betta at all, another place had a few VT males and a pair of simplex. nothing too exciting.
so i went to my local place and she had in a few "females" that were pk males, she has been desperately trying to breed them, but every batch of "females" she gets in are all pk males. while at this store, a guy from another store was in, as they are quite friendly with each other, and he knows im into bettas and informed me that his store had just got a huge load of females in. woopee i thought and off i went to catch a bus. i was a bit dissapointed to say the least. i found in their store a tank with about 8 bettas in, 3 dead and the rest very sickly looking. they had only two females, one was a feisty and bright looking cambodian red pk, but she was swiming with a clamped tail mostely so i gave her a miss, and the other was a CAMBODIAN YELLOW!!!!! alas she was already dead
so i moved onto my local pets at home, not expecting anything exciting. all they ever have in is wild type pk males and wont listen to me whan i try to tell them they are not females. well, to my surprise and joy, they had a lovely TINY female in. she is almost pure white, with a tiny bit of marbling on the head, and a blue wash in her fins! she "could" "possible" be a pk male, but either way, she is a stunner!!! and a bargin at £1.99
