Welcome to the forum!

I don't mean to have an unfriendly welcome, but that bettas NEEDS a larger tank. A wine glass is no home for a betta. Look at #2's fins, they are in terrible condition. For the sake of your betta, please get at least a 1 gallon tank!
(FYI: I believe he's called multicolor.)

hmm.. quite possibly your right... except living at school and in residence doesn't really allow me to have a huge tank for him.... he doesn't spend all of his time in that glass.... i have other ones that a larger that he gets rotated from every week or so.... :p he's happy though so i never really thought about getting him something too huge

i don't think his tail is bad I think it's the glass bending light, and the tail is curved round.
You can buy small bowls or even tiny tanks by people like clearseal, even small plastic pet carriers will do, also they have lids as bettas are known jumpers!

Walmart sell 1 gallon corner tanks that come with a lighted hood and small air pump for only $10. I used to have them for my boys before I upgraded everyone into 2.5 gallons.

i suppose the pics i took of him weren't all that great, so i took other ones.... :p

these are pics when i first got Daniel.... about a year ago

the wine glass looks deceptively small.... but it's actually quite large :p it's one of those dessert glasses so it has a very large round bottom

although it may be very large its no where near 1 gallon of water. u need to stop using regualr glasses for betta keepers. i understand u are in college, but thats no excuse to mistreat these fish like this.

Use whatever wordplay you want to make yourself feel better about keeping your fish in glasses, but the honest to god truth is that they are too small for your fish. You may think it's artsy or what-not to keep them in such containers, but it's very cruel. Bettas NEED AT LEAST ONE GALLON to live comfortably. There's no sense in buying a fish if you're just going to neglect it by keeping it in such conditions.

I'm not trying to discourage you from keeping betta, I'm just urging you to rehouse them into a larger tank. There's no sense in keeping an animal unless you can properly care for it.

If you cant afford a lot of money. You can get plastic storage boxed with lids. They are not transparent but you can still see the fish through them. They hae lids so just make some holes in the lid. I have done this in the past when i have too many fish and no tanks left. :good:

Good advice liz! There are plenty of inexpensive ways to provide your fish with the space they need!
