Final Stocking

I'm about done stocking my 28 gallon.

Right now I have 1 angel, 3 gouramis, and 3 spotted cory cats. I'm planning to add 2-3 more cories and 6-8 Lemon tetras. I think this would be okay. Just wanted to double check that I wouldn't be overstocking.

All my water stats have been fine (NH3=0,NO2=0, NO3=~.5) as I've added more fish (I used biospira to cycle my tank with my angel). I haven't noticed any spikes either.

I thought I'd include a few pics too (I know you are supposed to have 2 females and one male gourami, but they have plenty of room to claim a bit of territory and I've been watchign them pretty close, no one seems to be bullying or being bullied.)

I thought I'd give an update:

After the red dwarf dying and the replacement also dying, I've settled for 2 dwarf gouramis. My angel is doing very well. I also have 6 cories currently that seem very happy and swim around together in a pack. They're so cute! I also added 8 lemon tetras, 4 of which died of unknown causes. I also added 1 blue and 1 yellow mystery snail which are some of the coolest things I've ever seen. They're so active and fun to watch.

I also took out my mopani wood as the tank was still turning a dark orange and I really didn't like it. I replaced it with some black slate rocks that look pretty cool I think. Here's an updated tank shot:

Nice tank, the stocking sounds fish, but if I were you I'd get another angelfish, they do look lovely together. Sorry to hear about the gouramis and lemon tetras, but hey, atleast it freed up some space in the tank lol. Also, watch for agression from the dwarf gouramis to one another.

It sounds like your tank probably wasn't cycled... Nice looking tank though! What are the dimensions?

Actually, I'm pretty sure it was cycled. I've been testing the water every other day and for about 3 weeks I've been getting non ammonia, no nitrites, and 10 ppm nitrates. Also I used Bio-spira and witnessed the cycle as I used that.

I do appreciate your comment though, as I know that often this is a problem. I did have trouble with not cycling my tank in the very beginning and as a result lost the other angel that I originally had.

I'm not sure of the dimensions. It's a marineland 28 gallon bowfront though.

Thanks! I would love a second angelfish, but I'm afraid of aggression between them, especially if they don't end up being different sexes.

What would be the best way to introduce a new angel to my current one?

I have 7 angelfish in my 220 litre tank they get along great.

Just re-arrange a little bit, so the new one has a chance of ummmm getting his sea legs! Look's nice! Can you get a close up of the lemo's? I just love them!

Looking good

My only suggestion would be to add some sand - I split the bottom of my tank off and used sand on one side and gravel on the over.

The cories will love the sand and spend all day digging around in it.

Yeah, I've considered this. How did you divide your tank to keep the sand on one half exactly?

Here's some Lemon tetra photos, they're okay but slightly blurry. Those little buggers move so fast!
