iv had 4 plecs for a while now all 2 are about 3-4 inches and the other 2 are 2 inches hopefully they will start breeding soon
just wondering what set up i need and do i need to do anythign to speed up the process thanks for your time

For simple things like this your better off just doing a little research in a book :) most tropical fish books will have pieces on suitable breeding environments for the species they cover :) good luck

iv done that but was wondering if anyone in here had any advice as there seems to be few breeders in here

heres a pic if this gets on there ok il put a few more on there the pics are not very good thoughHeres a few more pics still not very good though

its a common male sp3 aka a bristlenose plec very easy to breed see me sig thats just off a couple of months

see smithrc on here does some good caves which they love to breed in what ratio you got males to females, if you looknig at breeding them you only want on male as if there is more than one they will fight over females food and teritories
feed them courgette algae waffers potatos and other veg

need any more info gis a shout

cheers dane

heres more it messed up last time and some how ended up with 2 pics loli got 4 i think there may be 2male and 2 females or 3 male and 1 female not sure even no there the same age 2 are alot bigger than the others do you no how much them caves are that your onabout iv got my tank overstocked at the moment im groing them all from babys and kepping pairs and picking the best 1s from the 1s that havnt paired up

males have bristles females have no bristles or might have a few around the top lip

am i right to say when you breed them you are growing them on as pairs?

cheers dane

no i probably sell them or hand out 2 mates just away of getting a bit of money back aswell from having them same as my angel fish just waiting for them 2 pair offOut of the the 2 small ones only one is starting to grow bristles but they are small he/she is about2 inches maybe nearly 3

you have the bn in the same tank as the angel fish if so and the angel fish spawn the eggs will be like a burger king to the plecs

how big are your bn

cheers dane

they are in with the angel fish as soon as they all pair off im going to put them in seperate tanks same as the plecs. The plecs are 2 at about 4 inches and 2 at about 2-3 inches im trying to get some more at the moment caus eth eones i got are brothers and sisters at the mo

there is a load of people on here that will sell you pairs of bn so getting any wont be a problem
what filter you got for them cos when they start to breed they will produce some crap

cheers dane
