Lovely plec hes a beauty

But

hes a common plec often reachs 18" and needs a min of 4x2x2 if u cannot cater for this fish... its easyier to rehome when small.

Im not being mean i just want the best for your fish.

and if you have it in a huge tank please do accept my appologie.

He does look gorgeous. He will last for years and his appetite will soon surprise you. What are you currently feeding him on?

Mine love cucumber :D

He gets whatever flake gets to the bottom and he also gets algea pellets for bottom feeders and yes a TFB loves cucumber too

i'm surprised noone's told you he isn't a common plec yet - he's an l001, otherwise known as a gold spot. he'll reach similar large proportions though. :good:

plecs are great!!!!
here,s mine to compare the difference to a common plec and yours!! mines 14 inches at the moment. any excuse to show him off!!
hope you like.

I've heard of them getting up to 20", PC are generally on the cautious side size wise. I've seen a beauty 16" one before, he was a cracker.

I agree though - min tank size should be 4 x 18" x 18". That's assuming he stays around average (10-16"). Any bigger and it'll have to be a x 2 x 2. Incidentally, my L001 grew very quickly. Easily as quickly as a common (1" per month average).

me mate has a common about 16 -17 inch its in a 6ftx2ftx2ft tank at the min and needs rehomeing if any body is intrested and has big enough tank ill put pic up when i can wifes getting enduced tomorrow morning :hyper:

I wish my pleccame out and sucked the tank and leaves. mine just sits at the back of the tank behind a piece of bogwood. He only moves when i move the bogwood during tank cleaning.
