Hi,

I've had my large comm. tank for about 18 months now but i've not seen this before. Can anyone tell me what it is/they are? They literraly appeared overnight attached to the side of my Fluval 4 pump.

My first and obvious guess would be eggs but who's the culprit? Could someone look through my species list in my sig and make a suggestion? My suspicions lie with the most recent additions who went in on Saturday: male & female Dwarf Gourami, an armoured shrimp, and 6 platys (live bearers I thought?)

Excuse my ignorance. I've kept fish for some time but am not much of an expert on 'fish sex'. Any help much appreciated.

I have to say, now that you've all suggested the angels, they do seem to be hanging around that particular area a lot. Should some eggs manage to survive not being eaten, how long does gestation usually last?

they are probley protecting them. but when they hatch sometimes they get eaten

yeah they look like angels to me :good: .. They usually hatch in three days time .. They become free swimmers at around a week old.. Is your angel guarding the eggs?

She was trying her best to guard them but unfortunately laid the eggs in totally the wrong place.

Suffice to say that I got back from work today to find that they've all been eaten. Maybe next time she'll leave them somewhere a bit more secluded.

Ahh that happened to mine a few days ago aswell.. One minute they were there the next they were away.. Better luck next time... This was some of my angel fry that I raised..Just thought id show you them... :good:
