Well, I'm sure something like this has been asked before.

One of my female guppies was very visibly pregnant almost three weeks ago. She had the gravid spot and everything. I figured it was a matter of days before she had them.

...Well...she still hasn't had them. This poor gal is HUGE. It'll be three weeks since I brought her here from my grandparents' Friday. That can't be normal...

Pregnancy lasts four weeks or so, so taking that into account and the fact that she is huge, she may be due any day now. You might want to feed some peas to make sure it's not constipation. Microwave for a few seconds so they're hot, put it in cold water to cool it, remove the skin, smoosh it up a bit, and feed.

Yeah, I know it takes four weeks, but judging by how she looked when I first brought her here, she should have been due at least two weeks ago.

Unfortunately, I can't make an accurate observation because all of my fish were at my grandparents' house four hours away until I brought two trios home almost three weeks ago so that I could still monitor a few.

I guess it could be possible she was just abnormally huge to begin with...it may just be that none of my females have had clutches this large or with babies this large since most of my guppies are extremely small.

Here are a couple of pics. She has been this size since I brought her home, but for some reason, the pics don't really seem to show her true size. I'm guessing the angle. Sorry for the poor quality. My camera broke quite a while ago and my fiance's is a crappy little 1.3 Mp.

mine was the same size for 2weeks until she dropped her fry...........jesus shes massive.........turn the temp up slightly and turn the lights off this could trigger her to give birth

You weren't exagerating when you said she was huge. Try the peas method and like modaz said, fish like to birth at night a lot of times, so maybe it will help.

I'll give them some peas today, but as per the light...They have complete darkness every night. Do you mean just not turn their light on at all for the entire day? They'd still get quite a bit of light as the room is brightly lit during the day. Unless you want me to cover the tank with cloth or something...

P.S. I don't separate my pregnant females from the rest of the fish. I don't have any problems with the adults eating the babies, actually. All of the fish that I have were raised in the tank from birth upwards, so they are pretty used to different sizes of fish pretty constantly.

Edit: As fat as she is, do you think she'd go well with a molly hybrid project? Think she could hold quite a few of the babies?

As long as it's dark at night, she does have the chance to give birth in the dark if she wants, so that's not a problem. Separating the fish isn't necessary. If she is that big, she might have a better chance with a Molly for mating. Give it a go and let us know what happens, but first let's the the babies out that are already in there.

I gave them peas this afternoon. Boy, did they go crazy over them. It was quite a funny sight. If nothing else, I know they won't be constipated.

LOL just wait i'm sure she will have them any day now, mine had hers last night and i missed it! But i still managed to save the fry's!

Try to create some hidden places for her to hide, to create the secureness in her might encourage her to give birth. :)

you know you guys say u feed your fish peas? How? do u just drop them in and let them float?

As was stated earlier in the topic:
Heat them up in the microwave, cool them off in cool water, peel the outer skin off, mash em up, watch your fish go crazy as you put the mashed up bits in.

Viola.

P.S. Will be three weeks that I've had her home tomorrow. Still no babies, but as long as she's not floating on her side or upside-down, I'm not too worried, yet.
