Aaw, what a gorgeous dog. Still looks like a little puppy.

And your daughter is gorgeous. How many kiddies do you have?? How old is she?? Look at all her baby curls. My daughters all grew out and I cut the final curls away a few weeks ago, since they were all split. It was a sad day :( .

Great pics. They look like they love each other to bits.

:D

thx everyone :)

As a shih-tzu owner, it drive me wild when people call them sh1t zu . They aren't sh1t anything. Shih-tzu pronounced, shee tsoo.
Make sure you get on top of a daily grooming routine now. Right down to the skin daily with a wire slicker and a comb. Do all the bits it may not like doing, like the armpits, tail, bum etc, then look around for a skilled, experienced and competent professional groomer to get it trimmed in a good easily kept, pet trim 4 times a year.
As an ex professional groomer, it is sad, the amount of times I was expected to try to comb out dense matts on a dog who never saw a comb between visits to me. I once got a dog brought to me where I had to snip a hole with scissors to get the clipper blade in, and with the shortest blade, clipped it like a sheep. The fur was so matted it came off in one bit like a sheep fleece. Right down to the skin. The owner went ballistic, until I showed him the heavily matted coat complete with a flea colony and stinking where the poor dog had peed into it's own coat. I invited him to poke his finger through the fur which he tried to do, but so thick were the matts that he could not. Luckily, he accepted a telling off, bought the correct brush and comb, watched me as I showed him how to brush and comb and the dog came back to me every 12-15 weeks without fail for the 5 years I lived there and never had another matt.
I adore the independant nature and stubborness of the shih tzu. They aren't an easy breed though and are prone to eye problems.
Your dog may be a small dog, but in that little body it has the heart of a lion. Easily as brave as a bully any day. The one I have came from a home where she went into battle with absolute glee with their large dalmatian and when I brought her home, she launched an attack on my giant schnauzer. More brave than brains. Neutering solved her aggression though.

Here is my 'dibble' posing for the 'Miss Bonio title' lol

thanks for the advice but we have had him for 2 years now and my gf takes very good care of him, regular visits to the groomers as well as baths and brushing at home.we are a house of animal lovers and would never let him get in a state like you described.
i know what you mean about them being more brave than bright my neighbours have 2 rotties and hes not scared of them at all.me on the other hand im terrified to go in the garden if they are out

I thought he looked well groomed but didn't realise you'de had him a while. I thought he was a recent addition. Great dogs aren't they?

:hyper: CUTE!!!!! :hyper:

i can't believe that little dog is 2 years old; he definitely still has that "shih-tzu puppy" look going on. and your human baby is adorable too! just sheer cuteness overload :fun:

awwwwwww how cute!!!! nicole and the dog!!

i'd second that nomination for POTM, but my cats up this time too and i wouldn't be able to look her in the eye
