Also anyones opinions on what is the best/nicest?

I've kept corydoras pygmaeus. A delightful fish with a body just under an inch long. A little different behavior than your average cory. These little guys like to swim in all parts of the tank in groups. One of the hi-lights was seeing them in action patrolling the entire tank and then taking a rest as a group in the bottom or all gathered on a leaf. They particularly enjoyed resting on a large lotus leaf. They prefer slightly cooler temperatures, becoming much more active at 74-75 then at 78-80. Corydoras Habrosus is more robust in build and behaves in a more typical, bottom-dwelling corydora fashion. I can't tell you which is better since I haven't kept C. habrosus. C. Pygmaeus was pretty hardy. They all survived a heater mishap where the tank spiked to 90 something degrees. Killed three rasboras, but all the pygmies survived without a problem.

A few photos of my pygmaeus, not great, but they were fast little fish and I'm terrible at picture taking.

Again, a great fish. I wish they sold them in S FL, I would scoop them up in a jiffy!

Lovely guys you got there!

Ye, I heard about there unusual behaviour, which seems pretty cool. Do they spend most of their time on the bottom and then every now and then go to other levels or are they almost like a form of tetra, staying middle levels while having a nosy at the bottom and top?

My plan is to have a pair of Apistogramma Cacatouides in a 15 gallon with these guys (either Pygmys or Habrosus), maybe ten of them.

I would love to see them patrol the tank in a group!

thanks alot llj!

I have had C. Habrosis as well and they are equally as nice but I would say I prefer C. Pygmaeus :)

Heres a shot of mine, you should add your pics to the profile for c. pygmaeus mad duff, i added mine because there wasnt a picture but yours are far better.

Thanks alot all of you! really really nice looking! Do you think it would be worth me getting them or just normal cories ( sterbais or schwartzi).

i have sterbais too in a different tank and they are lovely looking but mine tend to him from me if i approach to fast so i dont see em as much, the pgymys are really friendly though and dont seem to mind me at all i could almost touch them when im doing tank maintenance and they didnt seem to care. The pgymys are more mid water type fish though, they spend alot of time swimming in the currents and hovering about, they only seem to go to the bottom to find food and rest.

Just remember C. sterbai like warmer water then most other cories. C. schwartzi is a great looking cory. I plan on getting some in the future. What other cories can you choose from?

Well they've to go in a 15 gallon with a pair of apistos. I've had schwartzis in the past and they're great, if not slightly skittish, mind you a only had 4 of them.

The reason i would like the dwarf cories is that they'll allow me to have a fair sized group in a small tank...and they are slightly different.

Sterbi are a much larger cory, mine are in my 40gal with 3 peppers.I think you would be better getting the pygmies for your 15gal.
