I have a medium planted tank and have just upgraded my CO2 to a pressurised system, the JBL Pro Flora Profi Set 2. I have the ladder diffuser in a corner not far from my spraybar return of my external filter. Included in the kit was the CO2 Perm check, now after having my system running for approx 2 weeks my perm check still shows a just off blue meaning more co2 is needed and thats at just under one bubble a second.

Instructions state that ladder should be placed near moderate water movement. I thought placing near the spray bar would do this would I be better putting the ladder near my filter intake?

Tank details are

Eheim 100 x 40 x 40cm Tank
JBL Profi Set 2 CO2
Rena 25 watt heat cable
Ehiem 2224 External Filter
3 x 30 watt Tubes

Although im showing blue on my perm test my java ferns seem to be pearling slightly although my ricca shows no signs of pearling.

I really interested in making my first aquascape any advice would be more the gratfully recieved.

I dose at the moment using Seachem Nitrogen, phosphorus and Potassium + Seachem Trace.

Thanks in advance

Welcome to TFF!

You have just over 2wpg so I wouldn't expect mad pearling. You could try upping your CO2 to 2 BPS but keep an eye on fish.

If the KH of the water inside your perm CO2 test is high then it will take more CO2 (more than 30ppm if >4dKH) to turn it from blue to green. This is why I like this idea, a reference KH solution means that the colour change is a constant and more accurate -

Hi george and thanks for the welcome

I've kept tropical fish before and recently rejoined the hobby after a short break, after seeing some of the aquascapes on the forums here ie Jimboo's tank I really wanted to give it a go for myself.

I've slowley upgraded my tank from low spec to higher spec

Laterite base, 3mm pea gravel
Rena heat cable
JBL CO2

would really like some healthy growth and really love to see my tank pearl odviously I know this wont happen
overnight.

Would it be advisable to add another 30 watt tube plus reflectors to my system.

regards

Rich

No reflectors? Then that's half the problem. 3 tubes and reflectors will be enough, 4 tubes - faster growth, more maintenance.

I figured you had experience from your first post. Inspired from jimbooo eh? He's not bad. ;)

Good to have you on board Rich.

Didn't know eheim did tanks?
Yes Sam. Very nice too.

It was a complete setup I purchased from my lfs ehiem 2224, tank hood 2 tubes. seemed a bargin being it had £100 off rrp so couldnt say no really :)

has the eheim badge on the hood but im sure another company made it for there kit.

first time having a go at it im sure i'll make my mistakes but im willing to work to gain the rewards.

im inspired from all the tanks I see in the members section.

here u go sam not the best shot of my tank but gives u an example
