Hi
My Gourami keeps making this shape

mating.JPG

Arching his back and flaring his fins at my Golden Gourami..is this his way of attracting her?
Any info would be helpful thanks.
Andrea :)

How sure are you the golden gourami is a female? If it's a male, it will be a dominance thing.

:S then you have two males? I've never sexed gourami's using a dorsal fin when I used to breed them!

Also your sig. says,
165UK litres. A litre is the same in the U.S. as it is in the U.K., it is an internationally standardized volume

Well I know for a fact that the gourami he is doing it to is a female Golden gourami..is it still dominence?

Oh right how do you sex them then

Have a picture of the golden one? Most likely dominance unless you can see a bubble nest being built?

Well dorsal fin can be used, I normally just watched them, the males were aggressive and mine seemed to be a different colour.

Are its back fins 'tatty' or is it just the angles? Nice fish, I would go with a female, sorry for the hassle just needed to be sure.

So has the male attempted to make any bubble nests?
