Im not normaly a poster on the forum just a reader as you can see this will be my first post. Im having a little trouble ID'ing my 2 corys and wondered if any of you helpfull peps can help me out. they were sold to me as Corydoras melini but im sure the look more like Corydoras davidsnadsi. I feel in love with these 2 in the shop and just had to have them as i think there alsome looking, but as i said above i only have a pair and want to get them some buddies as corys do better in groups so ive read of the same type, Now the fish shop i got them from swears there melini but im a bit unsure and he is trying to get me some more. But with a little help and proper ID of the fish i can contact other fish shops and get these guys some buddies.

Ive attached some images of them below and i must stress photos were taken with my mobile phone as my daughter kinda jammed my digi cam

Just to add the pair seem to be doin fine by themself very actice and always playing, seem very happy and colors are always nice and bright i just think they need some more freinds.

Thanx to anyone that replys ;)

Metae and davidsandsi are two different species. They are definitely not metae and they do look like the ones in THIS LINK (C. davidsandsi like coryologist mentioned).

These 2 specie are almost identical with the only difference being body size and head shape. Since we don't know the size - I'm going with head shape and changing my mind to C. davidsandsi. - Frank

There is no way they are C. melini. Notice that in C. melini the black band does not extend to the top of the caudle peduncle. - Frank

I think metae and davidsandi look different most notably by different black markings. Heres two pics of my bandit (metae) cories which look very different to Burni's cory (davidsandsi cories if thats what Burni's is):

Yes, I agree that your fish are C. metae. As is this below: (Bad spelling on pic. Must correct that.) - Frank

the original fish in this post are c. davidsandsi... and there is a difference with metae and davidsandsi in that the black line down the ridge of the back stops at the base of the body and does not go into the tail fin on most specemins... and davidsandsi if goes right to the end of the tail fin. also, davidsandsi has somewhat of an orange glow to the temple area of the fishes head.

Thats wot i i thought they were C.Davidsandsi ,Thanks everyone for your help.

And as to there size i would say there aprox 2" in size if not a tiny bit more

As as a reply to the above mine do have a peach orange colour to them
