Well im on here quite a bit, mainly reading & researching but I thought it was about time I pulled my finger out and took some pictures of my tank. :D

The tank is a Rena Classic Aquarium 48Lx28Hx21W. I liked this tank as it has the height that I liked for keeping discus. Discus are the main reason im in the hobby, they are absurlutely stunning fish. I have only really started getting more into the planted side in the past year or so.

The original lighting for this tank was 4x30W T8 tubes, I have added 2x55W T5 to this. I think this gives me around 2.6WPG.

I have 2 External filters, 1 Eheim 2026 & 1 Rena XP3
Pressurised CO2 with an Aqua Medic 1000 external reactor & CO2 controller.

Fish include 7 Discus raning from 4 inch upto 6.5 inch, about 20 cardinals, around 10 Ottos, 8 corys & 1 Royal Panaque.

Last week pruned the pygmy chainsword and did a bit of re-arranging so its looking a bit bald right now, illl add some pis of the tank about a week ago before the prune. It'll all grow back! :D

How the tank looked a week ago

The picture of the tank a week ago does look quite nice looking at howver I was suffering from BBA & BGA, probably due to the fact that I havent been using EI & I dont think there was enough flow in the tank. I do still have a little BBA in the tank but im hoping that now I am doing EI it should clear up. I have also sorted out the flow problem

Below is a pic of one of the cupboards and how I have it all set up.

Hope you like the pictures, any comments/advice welcomed! I do have some pics somewhere of how the tank looked about a year ago which will make you laugh! fake plant background with white sand! Nice!!

Regards

James

I am quite like the combinations of colours from plants and the discus. I particularly love the red plant in the middle of the tank in second picture. :)
