Catfish Convention 2006

Wow Frank, it is Super photo that you take like your fish just sitting and waiting for camera. Too bad you didn't switch the bag of my C. Weitzmani I miss that big MaMa

Your new teniente looks much nice than I though, I love to have it but price I can't pay right now, it is a big hole on my pockets :hyper:

Frank has some the convention photos and if I get permit to post his image with Inchworm some of Ian and I will.

Jollysue: Too bad you didn't make it and it was a lot of nice fish, we have a good time out there.

People come from every part of the country, some driving to the Convention half way the country to buy Corydoras and some are from Canada.

Inchworm: Glad all your fish doing fine and hope you don't feeding your Cory all the Black worm that you just bought. :/ Good to meet you.

Hi Sp00ky :)

PC1963 gave me your message and I spoke to Mr. Fuller. He remembered you, but he's going to be over here for a few more days. You're so lucky to be able to buy fish from him! :D

it will be long trip down to the south of england to collect them, but i believe it will be worth every mile ! He said he wasnt going to be back for several days but thanks for the heads up :)

Glad to hear you avoided a near disaster... im dreading the first holiday we have.. especially as the fish house will be up and running them. Might have to get Big Ian and Alice to look after the ship (no pun intended heheeh)

BTW Frank, stunning new cory, looks alot like weitz's, but obviously without the extra black marking. also looks somewhat longer. Could this be the new £100 cory LMAO!

Inchworm,

Looks like I should have gone :/

Oh well, hopefully I can go next time. I had to work all weekend anyways. I glad you were able to fix your filters. I had an aquaclear filter at time and it did that to me too. Seemed like a good filter, but I didnt use it very long.

Frank,

Those are some very nice looking cories. I cant wait to read more about them :good:

Hi Inchworm, Frank, PC1963.

I had a great time! Meeting everyone was great. And Prayoon, the C. weitzmani I caught for you was a pretty decent female as well, just not quite as big. Still spawning size, just feed her a lot of protein for a few weeks then put her with males and you should have eggs.

Now me, all I left with was three C42, a couple more C. guapore and a dozen little marble bristlenose plecos. Nothing like the new species Frank ended up with and of course I have enough C. weitzmani so I let you guys have them all :)

And since I brought no camera, I have zero pictures.

Chris

Hello Chris

Very nice to meeting you and enjoy the copany. Yes, it is verynice C. weitzmani and nearly ending the day the lady who's got 9 Weitzmani [Not remember her name] she walking by me and said "Are you still here"

I told here I'm not leaving the area until you give up your Cory [Just jokeing with her} She reply "If I will take 6 and are you will take other 3" I was shock to hear that. I reply right away Yes, yes, yes. So she told Babies that I can have 3 more of Weitzmani. :p :p So I ending up have 5 of them. Plus on sunday Julie have more of C. Virginiea [get four more].

Hope Frank will get his fish too and he did have very beautyful Cory and Zebra.

At first when I and[very other people] see room 121 curtain half open and no body in the room. I was wonder what was happen it is all sold and who was the person. see photo

I was going to go... it is only a half an hour drive from where I live. But the price was so high and I'm on a high-school student salary :( . I would've gone if it was maybe $10, but it was way too high for me. Maybe next year I'll make enough to be able to get there! I'll have my liscense by then too, so that should be awesome :D! What kind of cool stuff did they have? Was it crowded?

Hi garraty :)

It was good meeting you too.

You found some nice fish also, I see. I'm looking forward to continuing our conversation about air pumps and filtration systems since as you've probably read, my AquaClears keep giving me problems. It's not the fault of the filters, but since LIPA keeps flickering on and off and they just don't always start back up, they will have to go. (That's our local power company for all those who don't know.) A good air pump driven box and sponge filter system will work out better for me in the long run.

Hi chibi :)

It's too bad you missed this one. I hope to see you there next time.

Do you live anywhere near Fairfax City, VA? That's where the aquarium society that put the convention on meets. They are a very nice and friendly group of people and if you could join them, who knows but you might just be able to help them do the next one. :D

I wasn't able to bring fish home on the plane, but I did get some books, plants, and a lovely print of a C. panda by Ian Fuller. I also brought home a pound of blackworms that only cost $12 - a great bargain!

There were distinguished speakers about all kinds of catfish Friday evening and all day Saturday, but Ian Fuller was the star attraction for all cory fans. He spoke on Friday about identifying corys and on Saturday about breeding them. His lectures were most excellent and it was easy to tell that he loves his corys the same way we do.

All right, Frank thank you for start it.

Well, it looked like it was a lot of fun! I'm sorry I missed it. :X

That's quite a list there, PC1963. I'm jealous!
