Well, the oscar I got a little over week ago only lived a few days, he never really ate much and was very sluggish. Well after waiting a few days and seeing that the rest of my tank was alright, I went out and go this guy :D He's a little bigger and his color is much better. :)

My female convict also has developed some awsome coloring over the past week or so, shes got nice and blue fins :)

Besides the oscar, i've got a convict, severum, and a senegal bichir. Nope the oscar won't (shouldn't :fun: ) touch these guys. The severums can get nearly as big as the oscar and the convict grows to around 6 inches and can really hold her own. The bichir gets around a foot and also should not be messed with. :)
 
You should be able to get away with them all in the same tank.. The biggest wussy of the bunch would be the oscar, so it's smart to get one that's bigger then the severum and convict. They're all pretty small too, so growing up together should help their temperment towards each other.

how bigs your severum?


ive got a baby but hes in with my tetras and stuff till hes big enough that hercules wont eat him.


they dont seem like very quick growers.
 
My severums wont stop growing.. started off slow.. then once they got to about 2'' they started growing about 1/2'' a month.. and getting more and more aggressive..

Makos got a big tank and the fish are pretty small.. so if they do 25% once a week, the fish will probably grow quite quickly

But if I got a male then wouldn't there be some aggression issues in the tank?

well he should start growing quicker pretty soon then. hes probably jus over 1.5" now.

there shouldnt be if you get them young.


severums can sometimes be kept with tetras and smaller fish so i think vancouvers jus had issues or something.

no offence mate lol.

Guys..now that you mention it, my oscar has a some marks on and around his stomach where now I see my severeum pecking at and trying to bite. My oscar never had them when I got him, but I wrote it off as my never noticing or he just somehow scratched himself.

Now I really do think its my severum, and my mom has been watching him while I'm at school and she says she's seen the severum do it to. Do you think this will eventually stop? My oscar is fine, I just don't want him to catch an infection or somthing..


EDIT: Here's a pic of him getting picked on...

You can see the difference from when I got him in the above picture.
