New 20g

Ok so we got this 20g months ago but only now have we got the light sorted. We got basic natural gravel and three random plants in as a start. What would you guys and girls suggest to put in there? No idea what fish to fill it with yet either! Sorry for the grainy pics, the digicam is like a million years old :(

The light is really pink. I reccoment tubes such as arcadia freshwater or interpet daylight plus. They bring out very rich colours in the plants as well as an excellent colour lighting.

It should look nice when plants more plants are present.

as fish species, did you think at anabantoids? i think some gouramis would fit nice there
 
Well Qays, nice to see you for starters, its been a long time!

When we bought the light, it had nothing on it telling us itd be pink. We simply matched up the size and read it promotes good plant growth, which is what we wanted, so we got it. Was a suprise when it glowed up that much. It really is only like that when it is very very dark at night.

Thanks SarahFish for your idea. I have been checking gouramis out alot recently and I also think a few would look nice in the tank. Though I must convince the boyfriend of that first ;)

Anymore suggestions on scaping it? fish to put in? etc etc
 
Nooooooooo Mad, stay away from gourami's, come to the good side where we have oddballs, would also work for a pair of rams and a shoal of cardinals if you like that idea. :fun:
 
I would also go for some school of tetras like cardinals or glowlights. Look at the fish index here and some pictures at aquahobby.com and see what you like
:D
 
Well MasterP. We had tetras before but they just died off. Not sure why, NTD I think. Kinda puts me off getting anymore :/

Can anyone suggest plant types and such to fill it with?

Ummm plants, I'll give you some java moss, amazon swords, salvinia, cabomda, tiger lotus and maybe able to give you some crypts and java fern, maybe.
 
A black background will really set the plants off, if you are going planted. Also some nice bog wood and perhaps if you go down the ram route some nice slate caving. If you do go for rams aswell, put a little sand area at the front, they relly love to turn it over, plus you get to see them alot if do that.

Can you tell I have rams?????

Edit PS If you do have rams the pic beloew is an Ulricularia gramninifolia, and Pogostemon hefieri, AVOID my pair have gone and eaten them!!!!
