Sorry to be a royal pain!

I went to lfs today, in mind to pick up a few cory cats to go with my single one and came home with two female guppies. They looked so funky so we chose them over the males. They are lively and happily hanging around with the corys and so i thought id grab some pics. They are far from great piccies but someone pointed out to me they think one might be pregnant. I took a closer look and also noticed she had one of the tale tale black spots. My bf is certain its just her markings so i wondered if i could get a few opinions from people here.

Thanks alot guys and gals!

Yes i would say she is definately pregnant but she doesn't look huge, so either expect just a relatively small quantity of fry or some time to go before she delivers  .

i cant really tell from the piccies but i ca see a bit of gravid

Thanks guys, i managed to get another pic :) your right, she is tiny. very small indeed. should i start to feed her on anything in particular? atm she will be on flakes and frozen brineshrimp. ty all xx

She looks very much like my guppy I bought last week she had 10 babies last Tuesday just 2 days after I bought her and it was a big surprise, I thought she was pregnant but didnt expect babies so soon and it was a big surprise

Good luck with any new babies let us know if she has any

thank you twinkle!

im hoping i have time to set up a small tank, id like to save the fry if possible. the shop i got her from had had her in the tank for a week and in quarantine for a week before that. so she is no less than 2weeks pregnant. exciting stuffs :D

well!

We now have 3 females and all are showing up clear black spots. The female in the above pics however is just hanging in one part of the tank, hovering around and rarely moving. Totaly not fussed about her tank mates and doesnt seem in any pain. Any ideas what could be wrong? I do have a small tank set up but uncycled, so im not incredably happy about moving her, although it is filled with tank water from my community tank and has a small hadful of gravel from community tank.

Any ideas whats wrong and/or what to do?

Thanks guys.

Ps: water is perfect, ive done tests. The water is clean. The tank shes in now is cycled. She and her tank mates arnt starved nor over fed. They have a varied diet. Shes not being bullied and shes not hurt in any way. halp :(

She ate this morning, yummed up some baby brine shrimp. Ive left her in the community tank. Its late here and everyone is in bed. Im gunna leave her be and check her first thing in the morning. how long do they not eat for before giving birth? is it likely she will have them overnight?

Thanks alot
Maddie xx

well she wont eat right befor brith. and its likely she will give brith at night. if i where you i whould check on her right before you go to bed.

ok, well, this morning she is still fat, still got her spot, still eating. Only now shes moving around again (mainly becoz it is breakfast time). When I checked her last night she hadnt really moved from that one spot. Sooo...yehh... thats where we are at today :/

I cant tell from the pictures if she is pregnant.... she may or may not be, I wouldnt get your hopes up. They all have this black gravid spot (females)... my 4 month old baby female guppy that was born in my tank, has been in the fry tank her whole life, and is fat with a black gravid spot, but hasnt seen a male at all... so she is not pregnant here, but if I were to post a pic, everyone would say she was. Until she gets overblown huge and you can see the eyes with little babies... than I dont think you could actually garuntee that she is preggo. Usually the black spot gets very dark when they are pregnant, and more of a light black/brown almost clear in a way when they arent.
