Just setup my Aquapod and I have a couple of newbie questions.

1. My kit only came with 5 small black plates to block the overflow weir. This leaves a big gap at the top. Is this the right amount? Or am I missing one.

2. Are the plates suppose to leak all the way up?

3. How much water should remain in the chamber in inches?

The 5 leaky black plates just don't seem right. Thanks in advance for your help!

I"m confused about the 'five leaky black plates'....are you talking about the surface skimmer? Is something broken? Do you have a digital camera (mandatory equipment with a SW tank) to take a pic? SH

Yes, I have a digital camera. I thought this might be a common problem. I have spoken with the local fish store where I bought the Aquapod and we will be fabricating a piece to cover the back.

I noticed in your description that you have a Nano Cube. Different construction on the Aquapod. I am at the office, so I don't have a picture of my tank. I have attached a picture of another tank and you can see the condition. At the rear of the tank, small plates are stacked to cover up the overflow to achieve the desired height of overflow.

are you talking about the pieces that cover the lower portion of the grates thus forcing the water to flow over the top and be skimmed?

if you leave the lower grates open you do not get great surface scum removal
