This is a picture of my male mogunda adspersa guarding his clutch of eggs. The white "stain" on the slate is the area that was covered by the eggs, about 1000 in total. Around half the eggs have become larvae now and have fallen from the slate and are wriggling in the substrate, the upper darker portion of the stain are the remaining eggs.
This is their first spawn and the clutch was layed after just a week of conditioning, the brood care i have seen from the male rivals that of any cichlid although the female had to be removed due to aggression from the male.
