i need your tips and expertise!!

1.kogen is being a bit fussy eating, he's only eating frozen(not freeze dried) brine shrimp and only if i put it right infront of his face..any tips.

2.im coming upto his first water change, how do you all change their water without stressing them out..his tank has a filter so it doesnt need to be a massive one. do i need to take him out?

3.he's spending most of his time playing in the current, is this normal?

4.here's a pic of his tank, is it too heavily planted?

The pic failed! My bettas love to play in the current of the filter! I can't answer the first question sorry! But with regards to water changes I'd just syphon out 20% of the water leaving him in the tank! I only ever remove my fish if I'm doing a 100% water change which I'll be honest in my 2.5gal hex tank I only do that once a month but I do a 50% water change twice a week as well!

Foodwise, don't fret. He will eat if he's hungry. They can get by on very little food. If you can try some live foods too. Bettas enjoy the hunt...even if it isn't much of one! Frozen bloodworm will be popular too. Freeze dried isn't popular among all the bettas I have but most will take a few tetramin crisp flakefood in the morning. It took some quite a while to adjust but they get offered live or frozen in the evening anyway.
Playing in the filter flow isn't unusual. Some of mine enjoy it others hate it. Three of my guys had to have theirs switched because they couldn't cope with it but all the rest enjoy theirs and swimming in that flow makes them stronger and fitter in the long run.
What size is the tank? I don't do 100% water changes on any of the tanks and the bettas all stay in their tanks while I do the changes. You just have to watch that they don't get over inquisitive and get too close to the suction.
Hugs,
P.
P.S:Bettas like heavily planted tanks. I'm going to say it is fine even tho I can't see any pic.
