Is your whole licence plate just "RI" or is it meant to be "RICER"??

there is really no need for that, here we have a new member to the forum who has been here 3 days, spent time uploading his "pride and joy" to this thread to hopefully stimulate some interesting conversation and what does he get.... some stranger putting him and his hobby down. and by the way, this is an international forum but the majority of the members are in the UK and US. your likley to come across many more fans of "jap crap and pommy garbage" as you so pleasantly put it in a previous post than what you call 100% aussie muscle (1977 holden) i am not normally one to make such a fuss over a little comment but how would you feel if the next reply to your own addition in "show me your car" was a similar remark. as i recall civicR was actually the next person to comment in that thread, he made no remark at all regarding your comments or car so why do you feel the need to attack someone again.

anyway civicR welcome to the forum and love the car. what additions have you made to standard then and what actual civic is it. i'm just trying to get my head around the various breeds at the moment having recently picked up my new CTR premier and joined a forum. everyone's talking about dc01's dc02's blah blah, means nothing to me lol.

the plate is blured out its soposed to be

R1YN B because my name is ryan second name begins with b
RYAN B

that reg plate is worth alot of money and ive spent loads on my car!!! all comments welcome i no my cars not every1s taste but hey i like it,thanks jimboo for puting ur point across :) i no most of the site is full of nice people

jimbo any questions bout hondas just pm me i no loads about hondas my mum wrks at the local honda dealership an my best mate wrks there as a mechanic aswell, put it this way ive the amout ive spent on my car there aint much standerd parts left on it!!!

It looks nice, but what I've never been able to get my head around is WHY?

I'm not having a go before anyone jumps down my throat, just curious as someone who's idea of modifying my car is to actually screw the mobile phone holder in place rather than sticking it on an air vent ;).

What I just can't understand is why you would spend £9000 on modifications on a car that is 8 years old and as stock is probably only worth £2,000 (if it is a nice one), when you could just buy a newer faster car? Also the resale value of it is unlikely to be much above the stock value.

I know a bloke who spent (years ago) about £8,000 on updating a mini (proper old style mini) he even had nitrox in it, custom interior, bored out engine, £2,000 worth of paint, brake mods done by John Cooper. He only had it about 2 years and the thing had rotted underneath and ended up at the scrap yard.

So what motivates you to spend that amount of time and money?

actualy its a late 2000 V reg of car,and the r1ynb is my private plate

its my hobbie its not like i drink loads or do drungs,im happy with what i spend my money on leaast ive got it to spend

Nice car mate, what BHP you putting out.
I drive a seat leon cupra just now......not had the money to mod it apart from a different head unit and ipod interface.
Car was rolling roaded with 197 bhp at the crank, so not to shabby for a standard car.
Might get it remapped once its 3 years old if i keep it. :)
Here is a wee pic of ot anyway

Sorry jimbooo and civicr...
I wasn't trying to hurt anyone! Just have a bit of fun.

To be honest... i thought someone WOULD have a go at my car. Being the only Aussie car on there. i was disappointed that no one did actually! means no one payed attention to it, haha.

But sorry if i offended anyone. I guess people here have different ways of thinking when it comes to cars.

I dont know if anyone has heard of it, but here we have a car show called 'summernats'. Its mainly people getting pissed, people doing burnouts (sometimes the same people) and topless women! If you show up in anything remotely ricey... You'd get laughed out of the show (and VERY lucky if your car is still in one piece!)

BUT, having said that, we also have our rice car shows. but if you take a 454ci supercharged muscle car there, ricers chins drop! (Hey, 'The Fast and The Furious' is all about ricey cars, and whats the best car on that show... The Dodge Charger!!)

Sorry if im getting off track here. And i do appreciate a nice jap car, my 2 previous cars were both japanese.
Im also a huge fan of the Mazda RX3.

Very nice!! The civic is one of my favourite compact hatches, seems to be a different styling to all those other look-a-likes from other manufacturers.

Have you noticed that most similar size modern cars all look roughly the same now with just a few light mods/lines here different here & their.

Probably because their all using the same design software & turning out the same results!!

Apart from modern refinements cars just seem to be so boring know with no character.

I take it with nine grand spent on it, it's not just been tarted up  so what have you done with regards the performance/handling etc?

 same reason spend hundreds of dollars on tanks and fish...fish that could easily jump out and die tommorrow. We all have hobbies that we spend tons of cash on and that no one else will ever "really" fully understand. lol just the way life works.

I'm guilty of spending too much on my motor too :)

not to the same standard as yours though CivicR ;)

thats what i said about my ibiza too... That lasted a year :)

my local dealer was mod friendly - it got lowered, chipped, and generally 'fetteled' in the space of a few months... running just over 200bhp (fly)

I've had an offer for the plate too - £1200 Y Go 2 Slo B)
