Took the kids for a walk in the wood on Sunday, to pick up some beech twigs and spotted something that got me thinking.

Bog standard moss you could find almost any where in Britain covering the base of trees and floors.
It always grows in areas that are saturated with water.

Has anybody grown it in an aquarium, or see or herd of it done.

I<m going to put on my computer desk and see if it grows

Great idea simon. I wish i had free moss just laying around when i went for walks. That is, assuming the moss can stay healthy in the aquarium. Good Luck and let us know how it turns out.

I've read reports of people doing this in places such as singapore. Some of the mosses grew, some died.

Try it! It can only die at worst.

Id say its unlikely to thrive but worth a try anyway, also temprature may be a consideration if you put it in a heated aquarium.

I though the same thing zig, as pseud says its worth a try, i thought it might be the next think for a unheated nano nano tank.
I,ve put some in a sourcer on my desk with a light i,m going to feed it with aquarium water and see if it grows. :)
