This is a 120 gallon tank, established 6 months now. There is 140 lbs of live rock, 2 blue/green chromis, 2 Sabae Clowns, 1 Yellow Tank, 1 Flame Angel, 2 Cleaner Wrasse, 1 coral banded shrimp, 1 cleaner shrimp, 1 horseshoe crab (3 inch), 1 Moon Snail, 3 Mexican turbo snails, 1 carpet anemone, 1 Sally Lightfoot, 1 chocolate Chip Starfish, various astera snales and hermits.

The attached pics of the horseshoe crab and Sally Lightfoot are moltings from 20 Jan.

Hover our horeshoe Crab. He has molted 3 times in 6 months, and stays burried in the sand 90% of the time.

lol, why do you keep calling it a yellow tank? it's a tang :p Nice tank (aquarium) though. Won't the horseshoe crab get waaaaaaay too big though?

they can because the tank is large enough where they hardly ever see each other. dave

Nice tank. The use of fake plants has sparked my interest!! I would think they might look ok at the back of the tank, i might give it a go sometime. I love carpet anemones! One of my favourite additions ATM.

Awww I wish my ex had a large tank when I was with him because I had a hard time picking between cleaner and coral banded.

BTW, i love your tank. :insert jealous face here: :D

I have a 220 gallon system and as far as mixing boxing shrimps with any o ther species of shrimps go i simply wouldnt do it. You made the right choice by not mixing them. As for this tank, good luck withthe shrimp mixing, they might never cross paths but i simply wouldnt risk it.

The sallly lightfoot is a stunner, i have been searching for one of these for ages. They are relatively easy to get hold of yet my own lfs never seem to get any. The horseshoe crab will grow far too large for a tnk of this siuze, and its also very clusy so expect the rockwork and other aquascaping to get ripped apart as it grows. Definately not a reef tank species im afraid.

Nice Aquasaping but i must admit im not a lover of plastic plants, its alien to the environment as there are no plants on a reef with the exception of macro algaes and it detracts from the natural beauty of the fish and inverts in the system. :*)

Just My opinion sorry :*)

As for the horseshoe crab we would do something with him before he got 2 big to the point he was destructive to the liverock he is so small right now he isn't harming much. The shrimps haven't had much of a problem with each other and the plastic plants although might not be authentic add a bit of color to the tank until we do corals which would add color. Thanks for the compliments though.dave

Nav, Give James @ Coral Farm a call, he always (well you know what they can be like lol) has Sally's in stock, I got one from him a while ago & it is a beauty, only cost me around the £ 6 - 7

(I think he has just gotten over a massive lose of stock due to a power cut at chrimbo)

Feel the same with the plants, Corals look so much better IMO, but it is horse's for course's

Sorry but my opinion is that those plastic plants are completely spoiling the tank. They look absolutely awful. You would do alot better to get a species of macro algae such as caulerpa or a type of "sea-weed".

Ben

well I'm sry that not all of us can afford a 60' light to support corals to make it look better than with the plants. unfortunatly we aren't made of money and its alot easier to get lights to do corals in a nano tank bujiweb then it is for a 120 gallon thats 60 inches across but if you have some extra money laying around why not lend it to me to get the lights so I can add corals. personally the plants aren't 2 bad 2 me but thats me

Well you have what looks like a very open leather coral in there, so whats stopping you having mushrooms and the like in there?

If you can afford the expense of a marine tank in the first place then surely you can afford £40 for a ballast and 2 bright T5 tubes.

Ben

Please dont taqke the comments badly. They are purely made as supportive and helpful as possible. Its just that "we" as reef hobbiests seeiong a tank with plants as being compeltely alien. The fish will hav enever seen a plant before either. In a freshwater tank they use plants to help please the eye and compliment the beauty of the fish. In a marine tank there is no need for this as the fish are visually stunning. Corals of course are our "plants" to help compliment the fish etc but IMO a fish only tank can look equally as stunning and these dont have plants or corals either.

that thing you called a mushroom bunijweb is a carpet anemone. just to clarify.
